the French Revolution in 1789. Originally used as stables, it was converted into a vineyard workers' house in 1869. Then in 2002, it started its third career welcoming guests for the first time. The authentic character of the building has been preserved whilst at the same time providing modern comfort. The situation is very peaceful but only 17 km from the A72 Lyon to Clermont Ferrand autoroute and a 5 minute stroll to the nearest village where there is a good restaurant. Here you will be staying on a Domaine which makes good quality Cote Roannaise wines in the traditional way - lots of interest for students of the noble art of wine making. Rural France is at your feet with views from guest rooms and the terrace towards a medieval village and quiet fields dotted with white Charolais cattle. |
