Moulin de Goeth

Creysse near Martel - Haut Quercy
QU36

A beautifully restored 13th century watermill, Le Moulin de Goeth is situated in tranquil countryside at the northern end of the Lot departement. All is peace against a background sound of flowing water.

The old country town of Martel is less than 5 minutes drive and essential medieval sights - Rocamadour, St Cere, Bretenoux, Castelnau, Carennac, Beaulieu, Collonges-la-Rouge and Turenne - are all within 20 minutes drive. The River Dordogne flows past the local village of Creysse just two kilometres away - a perfect walk on a summer's day.

A note of caution - whilst children over the age of 5 are very welcome, the large mill pond represents a very real danger - so if you are travelling en-famille, little ones, who cannot swim well, must be supervised at all times.

Accommodations:

There is one double bedroom with a separate private shower room next door to it and a suite with a triple bedroom (double plus single beds), a small  room with two single beds next to it and a private bathroom on the floor below. The style is very traditional with exposd beams, old furniture and wrought iron beds.

The mill stream emerges from beneath the limestone not far from the house - you can bath in its refreshing waters in summer.

You are very welcome to enjoy the large garden shaded by mature trees.

Continental breakfast, included in our basic tariff, is a relaxed affair served in the old dining room or on the terrace - your hosts allow you to sleep in as long as you wish.

Dinner is served only occasionally in house but there is a huge choice of good eateries to be found in local villages.

Your hostess is Australian and your host is English - they have very much adopted the French way of life and are a good source of local information when you are planning your daily trips to the see the sights or visit local markets.

Open all year except for the owners' occasional short holiday.

There is a friendly dog on the premises.
