In the hamlet of Bout du Lieu ("The End of the Place!") you will find this 18th century converted barn with lovely views of the Quercy countryside. Imaginatively decorated with antiques and beautiful pictures and with a terrace and well tended, secluded garden, this is a thoroughly peaceful spot to spend a holiday. Spectacular Rocamadour and the historic city of Cahors are within easy driving distance.
There is one main bedroom on the ground
floor with wonderfully comfortable double/twin beds and private bathroom,
furnished with antiques and water colours and with a door opening directly
onto the garden. If you are travelling en-famille, there is also a small
bedroom in the roof space with a single bed plus a roll out extra bed -
two adult can sleep in comfort so long as one is careful not to bang your
head on the wood panelled ceiling. You are welcome to make use of the large
salon, open to the beamed roof, with antique furniture and wood burning
stove. Elisabeth speaks perfect English and will keep you entertained with
stories of her house, the village and the Lot.
English speaking hosts.
Continental breakfast is included in the basic tariff but no evening meal is served in house: the nearest restaurant is within walking distance and what an experience it is too; last time we ate there it was 12 euros per head for seven courses including endless quantities of local red wine - no menu, the food just keeps appearing, even when you are begging for mercy!
No smoking permitted.
Open all year.
