La Callade is a large Maison de Maitre (Vineyard Owner's House) on the edge of  an old medieval village in the Corbieres district of  Languedoc Rousillion in the south west, situated 40 minutes drive from the Mediterranean coast and 20 minutes from both Carcassonne and Narbonne.  In the foothills of Mont Alaric, the immediate area is ideal for country walks or cycle rides. There is a village shop, pharmacy, bread shop and post office and the local market town of Lezignan Corbieres is but a ten-minute drive away and has banks, shops, bars, a vet, hospital and a picturesque market on Wednesday mornings..
Accommodations - the Bedrooms:

The house itself is large, cool and comfortable with en-suite rooms.
1. "La Chambre Chardonnay" is a double bed room
with en-suite bathroom.
2. "La Suite Syrah" is a family suite with a double bed room plus a twin bedroom and en-suite bathroom and small sitting area: it's quite separate from the rest of the accommodation.
3. "La Chambre Merlot" (to be available as from Easter) is a very lerge double room with sitting area and en-suite bathroom.

An additional bed can be provided in each room for a small additional cost. All rooms have a small seating area with tea & coffee making facilities. Hair dryers are provided in each room as well as over night toiletries.

There is a very pleasant garden with views of the local countryside and a secluded swimming pool.








Meals are served in the huge country kitchen or al-fresco and feature home-cooked foods prepared from locally grown produce - vegetarian and other special dietary needs can be catered for with prior notice. Continental breakfast is included in the basic tarif and dinner can be provided at 28 euros (including drinks) so long as 24 hours notice is given. A picnic lunch is also available.

With around 300 days of sunshine a year, great food and wine alongside the laid-back French lifestyle - the Languedoc is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday. Wine has been produced here for many hundreds of years and is the home of a number of Chateaux and Domaines with a growing reputation for quality and character. Food and drink are very important to the locals here, and you can't fail to be impressed: fish, oysters or mussels from the Mediteranean, fruit and vegetables from the local markets. 

Local attractions include World Heritage Sites such as Carcassonne with it's fairytale castle, the celebrated ruins of the mountain top Cathar castles, the Canal du Midi - the famous green ribbon winding its way through the Aude from Bordeaux to Montpellier, the rolling hills, giving way to the Pyrenees mountains. Summer beaches, winter skiing in the Pyrenees. Festivals, markets, concerts and fireworks.

Open all year round except from November to end January.
Secure off-road parking including garage parking for motorbikes
House trained animals are welcome by prior arrangement
