On the margins of the little mountain village called Salles Argelès, just 13 kilometres to the south of the holy city of Lourdes, lies this lovely 18th century maison de maitre covered in a wisteria of more than 100 years age and surrounded by lawns, fruit trees, forests and mountains.
He works for the electricity company and is a ski instructor in winter months - a great source of information about local activities throughout the year: she is a cook of some skill - her regional specialities should not be missed.
Mountain sports of every description can be found locally and then there is the magnificent beauty of the landscape and the thermal spas nearby
There are 4 tastefully decorated and furnished
guest accommodations, each with its own private shower and toilet:
1. A family suite with a double bedroom
and a bunk room for 2 children up one flight of stairs.
2. A triple room with a double bed and
a single bed (additional bed available) up 2 flights of stairs.
3 and 4. 2 rooms (smaller than the others)
with twin single beds up 2 flights of stairs.
Continental breakfast, served in the old
dining room from 8.30 am, warmed by the open fire on cold mornings, is
included in the basic tariff of 39gbp/$57US per night per double room.
Evening meals are available at 13 euros per person excluding drinks (paid
locally - 24 hours notice required). Demi-pension - dinner (excluding wine),
bed and breakfast is available at 32gbp/$46US per person per day.
