Surrounded by extensive private gardens with swimming pool, this seventeenth century vigneron's mas is located to the north west of Carcassonne between the Canal du Midi and the Montagne Noir: it has been rescued and restored by its current owners: the admittedly odd exterior hides an interior of  great character and charm.

 The house is 10 minutes by car from Carcassonne, 90 kms from Toulouse airport and 55 kms from the sea.

For history enthusiasts, there are Cathar castles and the fortified City of Carcassonne within easy reach. Sportsmen can enjoy tennis, badminton and ping-pong on the premises. Wine enthusiasts can explore the Minervois, Corbieres, Limoux and Fitou vineyards and caves, all within the immediate Lanquedoc-Roussillon and Pyrenees regions.
Accommodations - the Bedrooms:
The five well appointed and comfortable bedrooms, with old family furniture, are spacious, quiet and overlook the large garden, full of beautiful trees of different species, and beyond towards the hills and mountains of the Pyrénées.

Romarin: a large double room with en-suite shower and toilet.
Olivier:  a large double room with en-suite bath and separate toilet. Additional beds for 1 or 2 children can be provided in the same room.
Tomette: a large twin room (2 single beds) with en-suite shower and separate toilet, mezzanine sitting room. Additional beds for 1 or 2 children can be provided in the gallery sitting room area - so long as you are happy for them to sleep on a raised area.
Verveine: a large double room with en-suite shower and toilet, mezzanine sitting room. Additional beds for 1 to 3 children can be provided in the gallery sitting room area - so long as you are happy for them to sleep on a raised area.
Le Jardin: a really lovely double room on the ground floor which looks out on one side to a small courtyard garden: there is a bathroom area behind a screen to one side and and a separate toilet.

You will enjoy the serenity of the pearl grey living-room and the large garden where shade can be found beneath old trees.
 
A special children's library is set at the top of the house.

Swimming pool, table tennis, badminton, tennis on site. 


 










 



Continental breakfast, included in the basic tariff, is served in the old dining room or on the terrace in good weather. Evening meals are also available at 25 euros including drinks. A little advance notice, ideally 24 hours is required. Please let your hosts know if you are a vegetarian or have other particular dietary needs.
