 On the margins of the little coastal village of Gefosse Fontenay, 20 miles to the west of Bayeux and perfectly located for visits to the WW2 invasion beaches of Omaha to the east and Utah to the west, this extraordinary fortified farm is more like a fortress. Inside it is a real family home cared for by its charming owners (who speak just enough English to make themselves understood). You can walk to the shore where there are oyster beds and the nearest good beach is about 3 kilometres distance. The old city of Bayeux is about 20 miles by road.
Accommodations: There are 1 double and 2 triple (each with double and single beds) bedrooms with high ceilings and furnished with nice country antiques, each having its own shower and toilet.

Guests also have the use of an amazing old sitting room with a gigantic monumental stone fireplace.

Continental breakfast, included in our basic tariff , is served in the dining room with its monumental fireplace: madame also serves excellent Norman dinners at 20 euros so long as plenty of advance notice is given (otherwise there are good restaurants at Grandcamp 3 miles away).
