A listed historical monument, this Chateau, as you can see it today with its Renaissance influenced architecture,  was built in 1518 by Thomas Bohier, chancellor of Normandy, who also initiated the construction of the great chateau of Chenonceaux. Built into the cliffside overlooking the Loire river valley, the property has been used for centuries as a centre of wine production, the vineyards being at the top of the cliffs. You will be charmed by the extraordinary layout of the property, its many hidden corners, its hidden terraces and curious features. Your hosts warmly welcome you to their home: an authentic, charming and peaceful environment. On the property you will find gardens, a forest, a swimming pool (open in summer months), vineyards, cellars and  troglodyte houses. Our view: becoming expensive but still worth the extra cost.

Accommodations: All three luxurious bedrooms have a private en-suite bathroom and the two in the main chateau have a panoramic view across the Loire river to the castle of Amboise. 1. Bedroom upstairs with two single beds in the castle, bathroom en-suite.  2. Bedroom upstairs with double bed in the castle with big bathroom (bath, shower, toilet and basin): an extra single bed can be provided on request. 3. Bedroom with double bed in separate "cottage" with beautiful walk-in shower room. A large living room with a library, paino and pool table is at your disposal and there is a "summer kitchen" in the garden where you may prepare your own meals.

Other Details: Your hosts speak good English. As well as the continental breakfast which is included in the basic tariff, your hosts offer an evening meal on occasion (paid for locally). Please advise if you wish to dine with them on the night of your arrival. Open all year.
