35 km North West of the regional capital of Limoges making it a perfect location for a relaxing holiday or stopover point when touring Europe, a traditionally restored 18th century farmhouse, situated in the beautiful Haute-Vienne department of the Limousin region. Located in a tiny hamlet close to the historic town of Châteauponsac and the pretty village of Bessines-sur-Gartempe, it offers comfort and relaxation in a tranquil environment.

Positioned quite high up with a court yard to the front and a beautiful large barn opposite.

There is an extensive woodland at the side of the house where there are walks down to the river. Longer walks start directly from the house, ranging from an easy stroll to an all day hike. This is a bird watchers paradise - your hosts can advise.

Close by is one of the largest lakes in the Limousin, Lac St Pardoux, 800 acres of beautiful water for swimming, fishing and sailing.

Accommodations:

Spacious bedrooms with en-suite bath or shower and toilet, each retaining a simple rustic charm. Tea/coffee making facilities provided in your bedroom.

ROOM 1: Double/Family bedroom with en-suite
Situated on the first floor this room has 2 windows overlooking the front and back courtyards and the surrounding woodlands. A large comfortable room with traditional walnut wardrobe, double bed and double sofa bed. Tastefully and simply designed to create a relaxed atmosphere. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with thermostatically controlled shower, heated towel rail/radiator, WC and hand basin.

ROOM 2 : Twin/Double bedroom with en-suite
Situated on the first floor this room overlooks the front courtyard and has views of  woodlands leading down the valley to the River Gartempe. The original oak floors are softened with wool rugs. A comfortable room with an oak wardrobe and large double bed, which may be converted to two large singles. Tastefully and simply designed to create a relaxed atmosphere. The bathroom is equipped with thermostatically controlled shower, heated towel rail/radiator, WC and hand basin.

Access to washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer, iron, hairdryer and toiletries

Use of the Library with an extensive range of books, videos and DVD.

Private garden and courtyard with garden furniture and sun loungers.






Other Details:
Continental breakfast included in all the prices. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals are available with a varied menu, prepared by Helen a trained chef, using only fresh local ingredients and home grown organic vegetables and herbs. Vegetarian options are always available.
 
Open all year including Christmas and New Year.

Private parking with secure storage for leisure equipment.

No smoking permitted in the bedrooms.
