Although the house is quite close to the road, there is little traffic after 10 pm and the windows are double glazed for greater peace and quiet. There is a large guest lounge with satellite television where you can relax in the evening. Set in 15 acres of forest and lawns, you can stroll through the peaceful woodlands or relax by the swimming pool. |

Your English speaking hosts provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to ensure you enjoy your stay, with appetising buffet breakfasts to start off each day. During the summer, Breakfast is served outside on the garden terrace surrounded by magnificent blooms, and you are always welcome to picnic in the garden on nice evenings. Other meals can be found at the many good restaurants in villages and towns nearby. Bergerac only a 10 minute drive away, has a wide selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and a good market on Saturday mornings. Restaurants ranging from local family run ones to gastronomic, all at reasonable prices are everywhere throughout the Dordogne and foie gras and the wines of Bergerac, Monbazillac and Péchamont as well as Bordeaux will almost certainly be on the menu, or you can visit the vineyards closeby to taste the many wines of the region. For the more actively inclined, horse riding, golf, tennis, fishing, canoeing, rambling and cycling are all available within easy distance This was the battlefield of the Hundred Years War - there are bastides (fortified villages) and castles in abundance. Antique hunters will find plenty of good opportunities in the locality. If you are a student of wine, the many vineyards of Bordeaux and Bergerac and the distilleries of Cognac are all within easy driving distance. Children welcome.
