We found the hospitality provided by Malcolm and Tina to be excellent - a little corner of England, yes - enthusiatic and professional. "Estivale" is beautifully placed in the Brittany countryside just 2 km from Miniac Morvan. The superb Breton towns of Dol de Bretagne, Combourg, Dinard, St Malo, Cancale and the Jewel in Brittany's crown, Dinan, a well preserved medieval town and a favourite with the Bretons themselves are all within a very short drive. There are local markets 7 days a week within a short drive of Estivale where you can soak up the atmosphere of rural France. Throughout the summer you will find this area has many country fetes which welcome visitors. |
| Accommodations:
All rooms are bright and airy with views of the garden or countryside and are very comfortable, all having well sprung beds to ensure you have a good nights sleep after a delicious meal in Estivale's own restaurant, washed down with a bottle or two of French wine from Estivale's good value wine list. The guest rooms all have en-suite or private shower and toilet and are well fitted, having sufficient drawer space for longer stays as well as wardrobes and cupboards. Excellent towels are provided (changed every 2 days if you are staying longer). There are single and double rooms and you can choose whether you wish to stay on a bed and breakfast basis or half board including 3 course dinner as well. Estivale also has a pair of rooms sharing their own private entrance and bathroom - a family suite. The rooms consist of one room with double bed and the other with twin single beds. A further single bed can be put in the twin bedded room comfortably at a small additional cost. There is a spacious lawn garden to the front of Estivale where guests can feel free to wander round in or perhaps you might prefer to take a longer walk through the countryside, past the farms, orchards and tiny communes that surround Estival and maybe work up an appetite for your evening meal in the restaurant at Estival. |
