La Vielle Auberge

Epernay-sous-Gevrey - Cote d'Or, Burgundy
BG 03

The Vieille Auberge in ancient times was a village farmhouse and then, until the sixties, was the centre of village life, operating as an Auberge. It was left to run to ruin until 1989 when the present English owners came to the rescue. The old house was totally restored to create spacious accommodations.

The house is situated in the centre of a very small, tranquil village (150 habitants) overlooking the village green. The village is surrounded by farmland and forest and is located between Dijon and Beaune, only 10 minutes drive from the autoroute exit at Nuits St. George.

Behind the house there is a large enclosed garden with sun loungers where you can relax after a long day travelling or exploring.

Accommodations: There are five rooms in total; each one decorated in a totally different manner but always furnished with comfortable beds and provided with good quality linen and towels. One double, one twin, one triple (double bed plus single bed) and two very large family quads (double bed, two single beds), suitable for families of four or five with small children (Ample space for a mattress on the floor). All rooms have bath or shower and toilet en-suite. Baby beds and high chairs are available on request.

Breakfast, which is always included in our tariff, is served in the south facing breakfast room, which also has a bookcase containing information on local wineries visits etc.

For other meals, there is a wealth of restaurants a short drive away in Nuits St. George or Gevrey Chambertin or, if you have already eaten a large lunch out, why not picnic in the garden at home with a good bottle of wine? For your use there are garden furniture, swings slide etc.
